Getting this in, just under the wire. Where did this month go!?



This month I haven't been doing much reading (well of the non-fanfiction variety) but I did go see Warm Bodies and finish Good Omens. Since the former is an adaptation of a book and the latter is being adapted to a radio play I thought: Adaptations!!

So, some questions:

If you know a movie/tv show/radio show/etc is an adaptation of a book, do you read the source novel? Or vice versa.
Are there any adaptations (in any direction page to screen, screen to page, other) that you think are awesome and why?
What about adaptations in the form of, say, mash ups or sequels or AUs of pre-existing texts (think something like Mr Darcy, Vampire or Android Karena), do you read/like them?
Does it bother you when they don't "fit" your ideas of what the story/plot/characterisation/etc should be?

And,

What have you been reading this month?
