I've made it to book 6 or 7 in the Dresden series. I tend to forget about them and then randomly run across exact one that's up next for me. Weird.

One of Ted Chiang's short stories (in the book I'm currently reading - Stories of Your Life and Others) is about scientific journalism and how the publication suffers when they move to direct neural reporting.

I can't decide if the Dresden Files series is better read at one go, or slowly over time. On one hand, there is so much going on in the overarching storyline that it works better wit the previous book(s) still fresh in the memory, but on the other, there are some elements (like Dresden's unchecked sexism) that really starts to grate if you read too many of the books in a row.
