So why do I get plastered, and why am I so lonely? It's you, you heartless bastard! You're my one and only.

Man now you got the song stuck in my head.

I friend you? I am curious about the appeal of library school to readerly types; perhaps you can enlighten me.

And for me the lure of lib school isn't so much the bookishness and the tech/info science part of things. I'm an english major, yeah, but I've also worked IT at my school for four years. Library science seems like a happy way to blend two interests. I'm all about structure and organizing, so hopefully it'll suit me.

Ah, yes, that makes sense. I work in a library, see, just as a low-skilled "assistant", and when people who know me hear that I work in a library they're all like, "Oh, that's perfect for you--all the books!" and I have to correct them, pointing out that I don't actually get to *read* the books or interact with them in any meaningful way. I kept trying, for awhile, to make myself be interested in a library science degree, but I just have no interest in or aptitude for technology or science of any sort. Very good for you, that you do! I greatly admire people with useful, marketable skills.

I won't lie to you - the pending BA in English (this video is super-relevant) pushed me towards figuring out ways to pursue what interests of mine might possibly be marketable.

Yaaaay shitty economy and job market, I'm so excited to enter you!
