Morning Routines
Let's talk make-up! Or just general morning routines. Are you a roll-out-of-bed-and-go person, or do you try on at least six different outfits every morning? Spend an hour on your hair, or head out with it still wet? Can you not walk past a make-up department without checking out the lipstick colours, or have you never been quite sure what one does with lip liner?
What does your morning look like?
How long do you spend getting ready on an average morning?
What's your preferred weekday outfit? Weekend outfit?
If you wear make-up, what do you wear on an average day?
Do you ever go all-out? What does "all-out" mean to you?
Any products you really love?

- I pretty much live in jeans year-round. Sometimes a skirt in hot weather. I like dressing up occasionally, but mostly I'm all about comfort and ease-of-care.
- My go-to routine is lipstick, eyeshadow, and sunscreen. I might add eyeliner and mascara if I'm trying to be fancy. Maybe twice a year I pull out foundation.
- I went all-out for my sister's wedding! Which basically meant I had a professional do my make-up. It looked fabulous!

How long do you spend getting ready on an average morning? Generally about 15 minutes tops (I do more lengthy things like showering, etc. the night before)
What's your preferred weekday outfit? Jeans and a T-shirt or sweatshirt.
Weekend outfit? Jeans and a T-shirt or sweatshirt, lol.
If you wear make-up, what do you wear on an average day? No make-up usually.
Do you ever go all-out? What does "all-out" mean to you? Not really. I really prefer casual, comfortable clothes and putting on make-up takes a lot of effort for me. The only exception is when I'm performing - then I dress up and do full make-up (foundation, blush, eye-shadow and liner, lipstick, etc.)
Any products you really love? Clinique has eye-shadow and blush palettes that are perfect for me so when I'm going to be performing I buy make-up from them. And I like their moisturizers and other skin care. I tend to be allergic to stuff, and they're one brand I can use without having a reaction.

What's your preferred weekday outfit? Weekend outfit? I wear my niceish work pants on both the weekdays and weekends, new/er pants on the weekdays, retired pants on the weekend. Its just easier than buying lots of pants for the weekend when half the time i don't even get out of my pj pants. on the weekends though i wear a range of t-shirts! i love tshirts :D also hoodies. weekend clothes are the best.
If you wear make-up, what do you wear on an average day? i rarely wear makeup i usually try to moisturize but sometimes i forget.
Do you ever go all-out? What does "all-out" mean to you? actually putting on mascara, lipstick. I'll do this for a fancy dinner.
Any products you really love? ahah no.
i do wonder why i filled this out, but oh well.

Also, weekend clothes are totally the best.

About 20 minutes, give or take, depending on whether I have to rush out or not.
What's your preferred weekday outfit? Weekend outfit?
Bright coloured dress, bright coloured tights, a cardigan if it's cold. Same for weekends. I don't really wear jeans :/
If you wear make-up, what do you wear on an average day?
I wear concealer, foundation, and eyeliner. Never anything else.
Do you ever go all-out? What does "all-out" mean to you?
Nope, never. I feel ridiculous in too much makeup, I like my small amount and that's it. If I'm going out to a party or a bar or whatever I'll wear glitter around my eyes but that's pretty rare.

Anything by Barry M. I love their variety of colours.

Getting dressed, hair and any make-up takes me 20 minutes tops but I can do it in 5 if I'm not bothering with hair and make-up.
What's your preferred weekday outfit? Weekend outfit?
Leggings and a fandom related t-shirt. This can be casual or changing footwear, accessories and make-up can spruce it up to be more 'outy' while I'm still really comfortable.
I am unable to work for health reasons right now so my outfits are the same no matter the day. If it is meant in a going out way, then I have a selection of dresses I like to wear.
If you wear make-up, what do you wear on an average day? foundation and lipstick is my usual. It is easy when I'm fatigued. I nearly always have foundation on, not because of make-up reasons but because my exzema reacts to the slightest breeze in the air and then my face really hurts where the foundation is like a protective layer. The eye shadow and liner and mascara appear when I have more energy. I don't do blush or false lashes or anything like that.
Do you ever go all-out? What does "all-out" mean to you? My all out would be foundation, eye shadow, liner, mascara and lipstick. I do and not always cause I'm going out. Sometimes I just feel like it. :)
Any products you really love? Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse foundation. They have a great range of tones and I'm very pale so it stops me looking like an orange plus it doesn't upset my eczema and puts a layer between me and the cold air, which upsets my eczema. It took me years to find something that would help me without hurting me. I love it.

Spend an hour on your hair, or head out with it still wet?
Almost never head out with wet hair, can't stand the feel of it, especially if it's cold and/or cold out.
Can you not walk past a make-up department without checking out the lipstick colours, or have you never been quite sure what one does with lip liner?
Used to love shopping for lipstick (not so much liner, my hands have always shook too much to apply it well) but it never really looked great on me. Then realized - by my mid-thirties (yeah I'm sort of blind to various aspects of my own face) - that I never really needed lipstick because my lips have good natural color of their own. Which doesn't look good covered up with anything, not even gloss.
What does your morning look like?
It doesn't. Lately I don't get up very early. But that can and does vary. I have no real sleep schedule thanks, no doubt, to 20 years of shift work; there's even a thing called Shift Work Disorder that I think I have.
How long do you spend getting ready on an average morning?
Depends on if there's a morning and if I'm going out and/or want to impress my SO or others stopping by. Morning itself automatically adds 10-15 minutes prep time because I can't see or think straight when I do get up early, even after what seems like adequate rest. If I'm going out, up to 20-30 minutes depending on how I look - close to zero minutes if I think I look OK straight out of bed (I usually shower before bed, almost never in the morning), longer otherwise. If I'm working (not right now) 20 minutes to one hour (depending on how I look to begin with) to ensure I won't scare off coworkers and/or the general public.
What's your preferred weekday outfit? Weekend outfit?
Cut-off shorts/tank top - rinse and repeat. If it's colder (I'm in FL, we have short/basically mild winters) blue jeans or a pair of corduroy pants/tank top. If it's too cold for a tank top, I throw a stylish/painted short-sleeve or long-sleeve sweatshirt or a nice, thin button down sweater over the tank top. If it's extremely cold...I don't even want to talk about it. I hate extreme cold and warm clothing, period.
If you wear make-up, what do you wear on an average day?
If I'm working and/or want to look nice at home or out: a coat or two of mascara with a thin swipe of same-color eyeliner (sometimes also on bottom lid if I'm really feeling adventurous), a few dabs of corrector around my eyes to cover a few veins/light scarring at creases, blush or bronzer depending on mood/outfit tones, and if it's really hot/humid, some loose powder to keep it all from running down my face. I actually hate makeup and wear it as little as possible, unless I really feel like looking good in a way that meets other people's standards more than my own (mine are obviously lower). Good contrast tends to meet other people's standards. I used to use eyeliner (dark brown) to darken my brows (they're lighter than my hair - just plain kinda light) but it looked too fake, so this month I dyed my brows with my haircolor (but hair dye makers will always tell you NOT TO DO THIS in big scary all-caps in their instruction sheets just like that - so I did it, anyway. Be extremely careful if you do it!)...Voila! No more eye penciling my brows.
Do you ever go all-out? What does "all-out" mean to you?
All-out would mean adding foundation and lipstick to the above. I stopped using foundation at least ten years ago because it just clogs your pores/is more junk you have wash off each night. Everyone always tells me I have a good complexion so I've convinced myself to not cover it up. And lipstick is yuck.
Any products you really love?
Any non-goopy mascara that goes on light (because my lashes are thick and scary-long; they just happen to be nearly invisible) where the wand curves in the shape of your eyelids (because I have seemingly dozens of lashes I can't grab/reach/color in otherwise) is pure joy to me.

I love leggings, boots, mini skirt, top and sweater or jacket. It's a great Oregon outfit for the fall or spring. Lots of layers.
I'm a sucker for Arbonne products. Vegan and amazing.

Same here, lol. And on those special occasions I really like getting dressed up.

I don't wear makeup on an average day right now. It bothers my skin and my eyes; sometimes I have a streak where I wear it, but that's not the norm. However, when I do wear makeup on the weekend, I can't do without eye makeup undercoat that keeps the color where I put it. My skin is oily, and without that, there'd be no point in even putting eyeshadow on!

2. a. Sneakers, khakis, tshirt. b. Pajama pants, large t-shirt, even larger sweater or hoodie.
3. Some powder on my face and something on my lips, tops.
4. A skirt, v. carefully done hair, and extra jewelry. Is never worth it.
5. I like Lush things and Clinique things.

45-60 minutes (7-10 min shower, 10-15 min on hair, 5-15 on finding clothes that fit (currently inbetween sizes and still replenishing a new wardrobe since i lost weight), 5-10 min for makeup, brushing teeth, and contact, and another 10 minutes max if I need to pack a lunch)
What's your preferred weekday outfit? Weekend outfit?
Jeans and a fitted t-shirt for both occasions.
If you wear make-up, what do you wear on an average day?
Foundation, powder, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara
Do you ever go all-out? What does "all-out" mean to you?
Going all out means really trying to do my hair, using more makeup (blush, lip liner, lipstick, etc.).
Any products you really love?
If it works, I'll use it. ahha. I could care less really about brands.

The actual getting ready takes about half an hour with showering and getting dressed. I don't wear make-up, and even when I go out I only apply very little - just some blush and maybe a touch of lipstick.
On weekdays I wear 'work clothes' consisting of jeans that are OK do get dirty, a plain shirt/sweater combo or long-sleeve/vest combo. I like to look neat but I get dirty occasionally, so I have an extra school wardrobe for that.
When I'm not working I like long jean skirts and blouses or cute tops, usually with geeky motifs, sometimes in combination with a tie. I like to play with gender expectations in one outift, so I might wear a dress shirt and tie with a fedora together with a long skirt and high heeled boots.
"All Out" means a dress and an interesting hair-do. ^.^
Products-wise I Only use Body Shop, Lush, or other brands that campaign against animal testing. It means expensive make-up but I make up for it by using very little.

Weekdays, if I have meetings, it's the most comfortable office wear I can get away with, always slacks, usually combat boots. I don't know why but I've worn combat boots for like, literally 20 years.
Weekends are all about sweatpants, t-shirts and hoodies.
If I have meetings at work, I wear makeup and it takes about 15 minutes: concealer, highlighter, blush, bronzer, eyeliner and/or eye shadow, mascara, and chapstick. It's a lot of stuff, but it's all pretty subtle (I hope).
Products I swear by: I try and only use cruelty and sweatshop free stuff, so it's expensive, but I've found through trial and error that Lush Celestial Moisturizer is the best thing on this green Earth.
Also can't live without Benefit stick blush and Eye Bright pencil. (It really is like a nap in a stick!)
