Ah mistakes happen. Just see it as a learning experience and shrug it off. :) (Easier to say than to do I know).

Do you have a job or a career?
it started as a job, but since I've not left it I suppose it's a career
If you don't have one at all, tell us what you'd like to do?
I do have one, but I'd still like to own a small, locally owned bookstore. OMG who does BRICK AND MORTAR anymore. *sigh*
What do you do?
mysterious things with computers and data. I also move money around and consult about mysterious things
Do you enjoy what you are doing? Why or why not?
mostly. my work is project based and very autonomous.
Best thing to happen to you while on the job?
tough question... does going out to lunch count? I once had a really awesome apple and brie sandwich
Worst thing to happen to you while on the job?
the long hours and stress involved when a project hits unexpected delays. makes me cranky-pants

I was very tempted to say "getting to go home at the end of the shift" to "best thing" which I guess is along the same lines as "ooh lunch". :)

:)

I suppose I've had work-related things, like good projects, promotions, etc. It's just not easy to think of those things after coming off a freaking INSANE week trying to prep for vacation, y'know? Even now this post has gotten me thinking of work and listing through tasks I assigned, tasks I post-poned, ARGH!!! I'M ON VACATION!!!!

Meanwhile I'm trying not to think of work because I'm an idiot and I'm still awake and I need to get up... shortly. :S

Do you have a job or a career? I have a job, but no a career.
If you don't have one at all, tell us what you'd like to do? I would like to be a teacher.
What do you do? I work in a callcenter.
Do you enjoy what you are doing? Why or why not? I like talking to people and helping them where I can. I hate that I'm meant to push more products on people, esp when those people are phoning with money problems and I'm not doing my job properly if they don't leave spending at least as much money as when they came on (and preferably more)
Best thing to happen to you while on the job? On my current job? Ending up talking to a customer about Buffy for an hour and ending the call feeling really awesome and like it was such a shame I can't befriend customers cos she was awesome.
Worst thing to happen to you while on the job? Trying to talk all day when I was losing my voice and could hardly speak for the pain/rough/lumpiness of it- and my bosses telling me that I could choose to go home but I would be getting a disciplinary if I did and no there wasn't anything else I could do (like filing or typing or helping out on Grad). For several days. (And then losing my voice entirely and being unable to talk at all for like three days).

I love finding connections with random people like your Buffy thing.
My phone case is scifi and I used to switch it out to a plain one whenever I had to go meet clients. One time I forgot and my client went into a monologue about how BSG was a commentary on our currently political climate and ... \o/ it was like this white, male, 40-yr-old, IT director went all fangirl on me. It was awesome. I felt like I was in the room with Wil Wheaton or something.
I've not switched to the plain one since.

Yeah it does make time go so much quicker, although I'm always a bit reticent to use any particularly ... fandom-y terms. Like "shipping". I try to avoid descending into flailing about ships with random customers. :)

You have a scifi phone case? I used to have an Angel fascia for an old nokia but my current phone is sorta boring. :(

Do you have a job or a career? It started as a job, now it's a career - and it's actually a second one
What do you do? Paralegal full-time, started out as a temp to supplement income when I was working as a professional singer
Do you enjoy what you are doing? Why or why not? For the most part, but there are long hours. Like now I'm in the middle of a three-week stint of working 17 hours days, which won't be over until about 2 weeks from now. :(

Do you have a job or a career? By the grace of God, I am employed.
If you don't have one at all, tell us what you'd like to do? I mostly wish I was happy and making a living wage.
What do you do? I am marketing, communications, blogmaster, editor, business development, sometimes-administrative assistant, and research for a program evaluation firm.
Do you enjoy what you are doing? Why or why not? Yes and no. Yes because the work is interesting, there's lots of public transportation, and my coworkers are huge nerds and one of them is hot, no because I'm only allowed to work 16 hours a week, I do the work of two people and my boss is a poor leader who would beam orders to me as they occur to her if she could, my co-workers are extremely introverted to the point where we can go days without talking to one another - and there are just 6 of us, and the hot one has a girlfriend and is totally incompatible with me.
Best thing to happen to you while on the job? Being taken out to lunch and shown a fabulous restaurant I'd never been to before was one. I've had an attractive coworker (not current job; different one) tell me that he'd switch teams for my favorite band and I practically had a nosebleed on the spot (A+ fangirl feels. I miss that boy.)
Worst thing to happen to you while on the job? Being taken aside only semi-privately and told that if I made even one more mistake in the next two weeks, I was out, followed by two weeks of terror and hysterical crying.

Do you have a job or a career?
Neither. I had to quit my job for school. I really miss having money...

If you don't have one at all, tell us what you'd like to do?
I'm studying to become an elementary school teacher. :3

What do you do?
I used to be a server at a restaurant.

Do you enjoy what you are doing? Why or why not?
I hated my job. I hate food service so much. IT'S SO PAINFUL TO SEE PEOPLE WASTE SO MUCH FOOD D:

Best thing to happen to you while on the job?
The end of my shift. And the free food, I suppose.

Worst thing to happen to you while on the job?
I guess, getting hit on always sucked.

Do you have a job or a career? No, but I am in fact looking for a job.
If you don't have one at all, tell us what you'd like to do? I really want to work in a book store of coffee shop.

Worst thing to happen to me ever on a job, I was 16 and in my 1st job as a hostess at a steak place, when this guy there kept hitting on me and grabbing for my ass. So I was like "Sir, I'm underage. Please stop." and he wouldn't, so my 6'3" coworker comes over and is like "leave my little sister alone." So they don't and the manager comes over and says "leave. Now." So they finally do, and I go to leave after my shift, and THEY'RE THERE in the parking lot! And they follow me home, which fortunately I realize, and instead of going home I go to a friend's house, and call him on the way like "hey, meet me out front of your house in half an hour with everyone in your house, and some guns." So I pull up to my friend's house, and he and his 12 year old daughter, and 3 roommates, and 5 guns meet me (and those guys!) in the drive way.

I don't work anymore. At all. Not related, but yeah.

Do you have a job or a career? Currently, no. I have worked many various jobs and attempted careers in the past. Stepping my foot back into the employment waters, but due to advice, am only doing volunteer work.
If you don't have one at all, tell us what you'd like to do? I want to finish college. I am twelve credits shy of my degree in US and European history (double major with a minor in Native American studies). I do not want to teach, particularly, but if I did, it would be in a charter school setting.
What do you do? Currently, I only volunteer, but in the past I was an EMT/Firefighter- EMS is what I went to school for, but the department I worked for required that we do some firefighting training. I also was a prep and short order cook and contemplated some culinary training and still am considering it. I've done other jobs along the way- cashier, IT consultant, lawncare, etc.
Do you enjoy what you are doing? Why or why not? I enjoyed working as an EMT. I also enjoy cooking. The stress got to me on the EMT job, so I don't think I would like to go back to that and to be honest, my knees are fried- I'd be a liability if I was back at my old department. I love to cook, and would enjoy working in a kitchen again. My love, however, is doing historical research.
Best thing to happen to you while on the job? Saving lives, helping people.
Worst thing to happen to you while on the job? Not being able to help people. Burning myself.
