Your name: Cloudsinvenice Age: 31 Location: UK Five things you think are awesome: Long meta discussions, cats, crafts, museums, charity shops. Three major dislikes: Bullying, the Tories (that could really be merged with the first one) and wasps.
Current Fandoms: Vampire Chronicles, Harry Potter, The Police, A Song of Ice and Fire (about to start book 2), Sherlock Holmes (so far I've failed to read the canon but haven't met an adaptation or continuation I didn't enjoy), Code Name Verity, Gentlemen Bastards series, Avengers, Farscape. Past Fandoms: They're never past in the sense that I'll turn down a nice convo about them (especially if a new book/series happens), but: Lives of the Mayfair Witches, The Dark Tower, His Dark Materials, Being Human, Terminator, Chronicles of Narnia, Fiction Plane. Things you like about these fandoms: (ships, characters etc. etc.) I'll ship anything in the Vampire Chronicles but love Marius/Pandora, Lestat/Louis, Gabrielle/Eleni, Lestat/Daniel and Armand/Daniel. In both that and Harry Potter I just love a good discussion about the canon, fanon and people's headcanons, and the various historical/real-life contexts the books involve. That's pretty much my approach to most fandoms, really, and I seem to lean more towards book fandoms because it's rare for me to watch a TV show when it's aired, so sadly I'm not often in a position to join the latest episode squee over American TV fandoms. In three years' time when I have the secondhand DVDs, OH, THE BELATED SQUEE THAT WILL ENSUE. :P Farscape is the current example.
Movie you are most looking forward to seeing this year: Iron Man 3. Book you are most looking forward to seeing this year: Elizabeth Wein's companion novel to Code Name Verity. Can't find a title online! Tv Show you are most looking forward to seeing this year: I'm hoping for airdates for season 5 of Being Human to pop up soon.
Hobbies Crafts, photography, cinema, theatre, learning to code, obsessing over various historical/literary periods/figures and going to museums. Favourite season Autumn. Favourite food Cheese. Mild cheddar, to be specific.
What you are looking for in a friend: Someone who, like me, wants to get to know people as friends beyond fandom, and enjoys long comments/digressions. Some of the best discussions I've had on DW/LJ have had very little to do with the original post topic, so I'm relaxed about people going, "Ooh, that reminds me of..." and mutually enjoyable rambles ensuing.
I would rather you didn't use slurs like "retard" and "spaz" - I'm disabled and there's enough bigotry offline without encountering it in fandom. (This applies to slurs and -isms in of other sorts too, but I find fandom people are good about this stuff in general; there's just less knowledge about disability than some other issues.)
I have no problem with people posting about personal issues, health worries, family drama etc. (I do it myself, and besides, I'm interested in your life, not just your fic), but if you're on some sort of epic drug-induced path to self-destruction I'll have to back away - I've encountered too much of that in rl recently and I just can't watch people destroy themselves or others.
The optional gif part: I have no gif to give! But if I did it would probably be of a cat doing something ridiculous. Or some sort of Lestat/Louis altercation.
It's nice to see someone with mostly book fandoms, to be honest. I'm always worried that I'm boring everyone when I talk about the books I'm reading. Would you mind if I add you?

All. Of. This. Wasps are basically bullies.
We share interests and like you, I love when things go off topic and get you talking. I would love to circle you :)

This. A hundred times this.
We don't share a lot of fandoms (see below) but I think we might get on? Shall we try?
