when i got my first laptop i used to have my game shortcuts in a folder then i put them on the desktop instead so i didn't have to have the folder open too/search for them
now i'm just used to it? not sure if i could handle an empty desktop anymore
A bottle of hand sanitizer. A $100 T-Mobile card. Two Japanese dictionaries. A tube of strawberry lip gloss. A flashlight. A box of kleenex. Three receipts from various stores. A trial container of Lush's Dream Cream, almost completely empty. The UMD for Valkyria Chronicles II. A can of compressed air. A luggage lock. A scrap of paper with the alphabet written on it in cursive. A glass stuffed with bookmarks.
The app in the top left tells me the moon phase, the one in the bottom left corner lets me keep an eye on the system load, the one in the bottom right corner shows me the disk space, the one above that lets me lock/shut down quicker, and the one at the top is a timer.
I don't really have a desk, well I do but it's in to other room and is just for doing bills.
So Desktop.
I keep it pretty clean I tend to get antsy if it's too full. The background rotates through an image folder. My gadgets time/timer, date, and weather. Though the date one comes and goes on my mood.
Also whatever handful of games I'm actively playing atm.
I've been using the Little Twin Stars calendar wallpapers for about a year. And yeah I have way too many files on there...and if you can see there's a folder called "organize someday"...which I've been shoving random stuff into since before Christmas. XD
For the PC desktop, I have a background switcher so it changes every couple of minutes or so. I have nothing on my desktop, as in no apps or icons. Boring I know XD
As for my desk, it's one designed and made by my dad and uncle. It's a desk with bookshelves, so there are plenty of things: my PC (monitor, CPU, etc.), pens, papers (for printing, scratch, etc.), modules and textbooks, etc. It's less organized than I would want to, but it's more organized given my schedule :)
Kumihimo bracelet projects, books, beads, thread, raku cabs, my phone, my camera, lamp, a rock (book end) a digital photo frame, my monitor, pads of paper, scraps of paper with notes scribbled on them, my mouse, the tv remote, my dragon box with various bits in it, Ego Likeness's new cd, raku pot holding pens, pottery cup holding markers, pens and pencils...
At work right now so the clutter consists of patient paper work, monitor for work computer, water, oatmeal cookies and my laptop. Can't show work desktop (boring and has corporate propaganda background) but this is what my laptop desktop looks like:
Morrigan does regularly. Aries and Max when I let them- Max is too fat to jump up there himself and Aries can be a pest, taking up the entire desk. Heh.
Now it's on one of the John/Cam wallpapers I stole from you. Well, from the gifts made for you. So useful having a popular friend who's also a brain-twin!
My physical desktop is hideously messy, so here's my Boring McPlainpants virtual one:
Featuring The Time It Is Now, a list of the things currently making my ancient computer explode, The Music It Is Now, a to-do list I ignore, and boxes to either wget illicit digital files or force-quit Firefox whenever it chokes, which is frequently.
I'm thinking of going hog-wild and changing the clock's font. I like to live on the edge.
Yeah, they're highly unlikely to see it this way! You usually only get a notification for direct replies, not comments happening further down in the thread. You'd best try replying to their comment directly - which is to say, hit the "reply" link that's right underneath their comment. (It's kinda confusing with all the different places to reply to, I know from experience!)

*g* I have one of those too. Except mine's called "chaos" it's been around for about three years rather than six months!

I should probably clean up those shortcuts; I never actually use any of them anyway.

Did I mention beads?
No cats for once though. Heh.
