I just saw this video today and I'm not quite sure what to think. You don't have to watch the whole thing, but make sure to see the weird "spiraling lights" and then the radio transmission at 8:38.
There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on all the beaches in the world. So yeah, I think it's quite possible that there's life out there somewhere. Doesn't mean they've ever made contact with us, though. The universe is pretty vast.
I've never seen any compelling evidence for the existence of paranormal activity. Until I do, I'll remain skeptical.
I agree that it's superunlikely that this is the only dot in all the universes with any kind of life on it, especially since many religions, including Tibetan Buddhism, believe that there are countless inhabited universes, but I have to say that I have never met any &*^%$ from a ufo that I ever liked. I have friends who claim to have been abducted and thought it was great, but I don't see anything 'great' about it--
I think the universe is entirely too huge for us to be completely alone in it. But I don't believe the UFO sitings or the abductions are true - I think they can all be explained with perfectly logical human reasons.
Paranormal activity - not entirely convinced either way. Again I think a lot of things can be explained scientifically. But perhaps there are other things that can't be.
It just seems entirely too smug of us to think we're alone - although the probabilities that a place contains the conditions to create life "as we know it" are probably rare. But in the immortal words of that wise space pirate....
Also, I believe my fear of closets explains my belief in the paranormal. Admittedly, this belief is a bit more flexible and based more on anecdotal evidence (and family tales) than any real hard facts.
i believe in both, actually. others have explained a lot of reasons why i do believe in aliens, but i think the paranormal is more...faith-based, until there is a hard way to really prove its existence. and a lot of my reasons are personal in that regard!
There a definitely things out there we don't know or understand. Be that aliens, ghosts, metaphysical creatures... whatever. I mean... look at how much 'science' has been discovered in the last several centuries. In the Middle Ages these things would be considered magic, fantasy, the work of the devil etc. No doubt there are similar discoveries just waiting to be made.
